Brandy has the internet going nuts over this interview. Apparently a couple of folks are in their feelings over what she said...
Though it's been four years since the passing of Whitney Houston, the legendary singer's protégé and friend, Brandy Norwood, hasn't quite got over her shocking death.
Coincidentally, Houston died on the Grammy-winning singer's birthday, February 11.
"I still don't really understand why she died period...and why she had to die that way," Brandy says in an exclusive interview on Centric's "BEING," which airs April 23.
"My birthday, though? I really don't understand that still."
Brandy, who was handpicked by Houston herself to star as the first Black Cindrella, is brought to tears when recalling the tragic day her real-life fairy godmother was found drowned in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills Hotel room.
Despite their close relationship, Brandy reveals for the first time ever that she and Whitney had a three-hour conversation on the phone just two days before her death.
"I was able to tell her everything that I felt...how much I loved her, how upset I was at her on some things and mad that I hadn't spoken to her in a long time. I got everything off my chest," Brandy said. "She got everything off of her chest to me."
Many will remember that just days before her death, Houston interrupted an interview taping with Brandy, Monica and Clive Davis. During that encounter, Houston handed Brandy a mysterious note. The "Moesha" star has said that she will keep the content of that note private, however, the bond they shared, she says, is something that will stay with her forever.
"I believe Whitney is here. She's always with me," she said. "I think she passed me the torch."
