I was poking around trying to find out when ZEA would be returning to TV and according to "Premiere Date TV", BET has yet decided to announce whether Zoe received the axe or not.
Here's more info:
That info alone would indicate 2 things: 1. they would really need to pull the budget together and focus on more appearances and expanding on these character development. 2. The fact that the shows ratings within a week dropped over 160,000 ratings would show you that they may even pull back a bit from the budget; bringing in coaches or writers to develop the storyline and characters.
However, having said that, I am not sure that that's enough to conclude that the show is finished.

Those of us who have enjoyed Zoe, cross your fingers. Besides, who knows, maybe they will develop the characters a bit more & make them more engaging! I am holding out on hope.

Should budgets allow, it would be good to have some location scenes as well, since the sets are a bit obvious. It might broaden the appeal, too, since most people don’t understand the pressure of choosing silent auction items for a private school fundraiser. While there is nothing particularly wrong with wealth and privilege, it isn’t relatable for most people who watch sitcoms. Maybe a bit of misfortune will bring Zoe Moon back down to Earth.
